About The Role
We are offering a unique opportunity for a Safety Trainee / Graduate to join BMD and gain valuable hands‐on experience working on a major renewable energy project.
Whether you're commencing your career or have recently completed a relevant qualification, you'll be supported by experienced Health and Safety professionals while developing practical skills in construction safety management.
For trainees, BMD will support your studies towards a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or similar qualification) while you earn a competitive salary and gain real‐world experience on site.
This role combines structured learning, mentoring and on‐the‐job development, creating a pathway towards future Safety Advisor and Health & Safety leadership opportunities.
Key Accountabilities
Support the implementation and maintenance of project health and safety management systems
Assist with site inspections, audits, risk assessments and safety observations
Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings and site safety walks
Assist with incident reporting, investigations and corrective action tracking
Maintain safety documentation, records and reporting requirements
Support project compliance with WHS legislation, standards and company procedures
Promote a positive safety culture and encourage proactive safety behaviours across the workforce
Learn and develop a strong understanding of construction and renewable energy safety practices
The Successful Candidate Will Be a Self‐starter With
Looking to commence a career in health and safety through a traineeship pathway
A recent graduate with a qualification in Work Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline
Passionate about creating safe workplaces and supporting positive outcomes for people
A proactive, observant and detail‐oriented individual
A confident communicator who can engage with a diverse site‐based workforce
Motivated to learn and develop within a energetic construction environment
Able to travel to site daily and reside within reasonable commuting distance of Palmer Wind Farm (Under 1 Hour Commute)
Candidates who have recently completed a Certificate IV OHS or studying a Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety highly desired
