About the Role:The overall purpose of the Youth Worker, Residential Care is to provide care and/or support to children and young people, in out of home care and/or living within at risk families.
The care and support provided by Youth Workers will enhance opportunities for the young person to participate in age-appropriate activities to support development of positive self-regard, to support community inclusion, to support positive relations with family of origin and to contribute to placement stability.This role involves being the primary caregiver during shift, ensuring the safety of young people in care, and imparting essential life skills to establish a consistent routine.
Collaborating with the Coordinator and Service Manager,



you'll help develop trauma-informed interventions for these young individuals with complex issues.What a day in the life of a Residential Youth Worker looks like:Planning and engaging in meaningful activities with the young person.Being a vital part of a cohesive team, dedicated to helping young people achieve their personal goals.Promoting good hygiene and nutrition.Maintaining daily case notes, handling administrative tasks, and preparing incident reports.Current positions available:1x Part time ; Mayfair line CWeek 1 : Tue to Fri (7.30am to 2.30pm)Week 2: Tue to Fri (7.30am to 2.30pm), Sat (8am to *****pm +SO 6.30am to 8.30am)Week 1 :Mon (2pm to 10pm), Tue (2pm to 10pm), Fri to Sun (2pm to 10pm)Week 2 : Wed (2pm to 10pm), Thu (2pm to 10pm)Week 1 : Mon and Wed (2pm to 10:30pm + SO 6:30am to 10am), Fri (2pm to 10:30pm + SO 6:30am to 8:30am), Sun (8am to 10:30pm + SO 6:30am to 8am)Week 2 : Tue (2pm to 10:30pm + SO 6:30am to 10am)Week 1 : Wed and Thu (1pm to 9pm)Week 2 : Mon (1pm to 9pm), Tue (1pm to 9pm), Fri (1pm to 9pm), Sat (1pm to 9pm), Sun (1pm to 9pm)Qualifications, Credentials and Other RequirementsA Certificate IV or higher qualification in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Services, Community Services,



or a related fieldCurrent Blue Card (Working with Children's Check QLD)Current Licensed Care Service (LCS)Completion of Hope and Healing Framework trainingCurrent Queensland Drivers LicenceThe ability to provide two recent referees of supervisorsAvailability to work - day, evening and weekend shifts, including sleepovers or awake shifts is essential for current needs.
