ConsultANZ is looking for an experienced H&S; Coordinator / Advisor to join a specialist civil contractor based in Brisbane.
This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who enjoys improving systems, driving compliance, and working closely with project teams to enhance Health & Safety performance across the business.The successful candidate will play a key role in reviewing, auditing, and improving existing H&S; systems, policies, and documentation while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.MAIN DUTIES:Conduct a comprehensive review of existing Health & Safety systems, policies, procedures, and documentation.Audit current H&S; practices across projects to assess effectiveness and compliance.Undertake gap analysis to identify areas for improvement and develop practical solutions.Review and improve Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), forms, templates, and supporting documentation.Ensure project teams are using the appropriate systems and processes to effectively manage safety risks.Support the implementation and standardisation of H&S; procedures across the business.Conduct site inspections and audits,



providing recommendations for continuous improvement.Work closely with project managers and site teams to promote best-practice safety management.Provide guidance and support on Health & Safety matters across multiple projects.Assist in maintaining compliance with relevant Australian Health & Safety legislation and standards.REQUIREMENTS:Previous experience as an H&S; Coordinator, H&S; Advisor, or similar role within civil construction, infrastructure, piling, geotechnical, or related industries.Strong understanding of Health & Safety management systems and compliance requirements.Experience conducting audits, system reviews, and gap analysis.High level of IT literacy and confidence working with digital management systems and documentation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organisational and administrative abilities.Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels and drive positive safety outcomes.Self-motivated and capable of working independently while collaborating with project teams.BENEFITS:Salary range ($90K- $120K base + super) negotiable based on experience.Contract-to-permanent opportunity with long-term career prospects.Opportunity to lead meaningful improvements across the company's H&S; systems and processes.Work with a respected contractor delivering specialist civil projects.Supportive team workplace with opportunities for professional development.
