We are hiring a compassionate and reliable Disability Support Worker to join a dedicated support team in Ryde NSW ****.
This opportunity is ideal for support workers seeking extra shifts to complement their existing schedule.
About The Role
Caring for an elderly male participant living with an acquired brain injury following a stroke.Female carers only.
Essential Requirements
Experience supporting people with acquired brain injury, stroke, or complex disability.Confident with hoist transfers, manual handling, and mobility support.Medication assistance experience.Ability to follow care plans and safety procedures.Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach.
Key Duties
Personal care, showering, dressing, and continence support.Safe transfers using hoist and mobility equipment.Meal preparation, feeding assistance, and medication support.Light household tasks.Community access and social support.Monitoring wellbeing and maintaining accurate records.
About You
Confident supporting people with complex physical disabilities.Experienced in manual handling and personal care.Calm, patient, and respectful.Reliable and committed to providing consistent support.Able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with families and support teams.Passionate about promoting dignity, choice, and inclusion.
Shifts Available (Ongoing)
Monday 4-8pm.
Additional shifts may be available in the future, subject to needs and roster availability.
What We're Looking For
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Disability Support Worker.Experience with manual handling, hoists and other high-care skills.Ability to provide personal care, domestic assistance,
and social support.Proactive approach to supporting clients to achieve goals and maintain community connections.Strong English communication skills.Physically capable of supporting regular outings and activities.
What You'll Be Doing
Providing support with domestic assistance and household tasks.Supporting community access and participation.Assisting the participant to maintain independence in their daily routine.Building positive relationships with the participant and their support network.Working collaboratively with family members and the broader care team.Providing practical support tailored to the participant's individual needs.Following care plans and maintaining accurate documentation.
Compliance Requirements
NDIS Workers Screening Check (Service NSW).
Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate.Working with Children Check (WWCC).
Preferably driving with a full Australian driver's licence, own car with comprehensive car insurance.
