Job Description

Join Aurecon's NSW Hydrology & Flooding team in Sydney or Newcastle as a Hydrology & Flooding engineer. You will be responsible for the delivery of flood assessment on major Transport, Land, Water, Infrastructure, Dams and Energy projects across NSW and ACT.

On a day‐to‐day basis you will design and model flood hazards, collaborate across disciplines internally and externally, address technical queries, and drive optimum engineering solutions for clients and public authorities.

Due to recent project wins in Transport, Water Resources, Energy and Advisory markets we are growing our team. In this position you will play an integral part in an ANZ team of highly skilled flooding specialists, conducting hydrological and hydraulic investigations and design for a wide range of projects through collaboration with transport, drainage, land development, dams, water resources advisory and energy teams.

What We Are Looking For

/n

/n

- Bachelor or Master's level degree in civil or environmental engineering and tertiary qualification

/n

- 5 years of experience in the flooding industry

/n

- Proficiency in TUFLOW, RORB, WBNM and XP-RAFTS required

/n

- Proficiency in GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS or Map Info

/n

- Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate information and modelling results

/n

- Strong understanding of Australian Rainfall and Runoff (ARR) 2019

/n

- Good verbal and written communication skills

/n

- Ability to work collaboratively at an internal level

/n

- Ability to deliver the flood modelling tasks on time within the budget, time frame and high quality

/n

- Have an interest in technological advances and applying innovation

/n

- Mentor junior engineers and foster a supportive workplace where people can grow and succeed.
