Role Overview
/n
The Senior Market Research Analyst within Data Operations and Reporting team is a senior delivery role responsible for producing high-quality tourism economics, visitation and market insights, briefings and presentations.
/n
The role will undertake data analysis of large, structured and processed numerical datasets, report composition, market trend interpretation, analytical storytelling and insight generation to support stakeholder information needs and strategic planning across the agency.
/n
This role is best fit for someone from a market research agency, consulting firm, tourism organisation, economics team, consumer insights function, commercial analytics team or government reporting environment who can quickly understand business questions, work across multiple data sources, generate clear ad-hoc insights, and prepare polished written and presentation materials for senior and non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibility
/n
/n
- Produce tourism economics, visitation and market insight reports, briefings, snapshots and presentations.
/n
- Produce ad-hoc tourism insights in response to defined or open questions.
/n
- Produce transparent,
concise and stakeholder-ready commentary that explains key findings, trends, implications and caveats.
/n
- Design and conduct desktop market research.
/n
- Maintain clear records of data sources, assumptions and methodology used in reporting outputs.
/n
- Ramp up quickly in a short-term environment, with the expectation of independently completing basic reporting outputs from initial analysis to final output within the first two weeks following appropriate training and guidance.
/n
- Work within established processes, BI workflows and templates to deliver outputs at scale.
/n
- Interpret complex data into plain language for non-technical audiences, with a strong focus on practical implications rather than theories.
/n
- Maintain strong attention to detail to data accuracy, coherence and rigorousness.
/n
- Manage workload and delivery priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Provide concise and structured daily updates on work progress, blockers and supports needed for team resourcing and workload management purposes.
/n
- Move beyond descriptive reporting to identify the "so what", implications and potential recommendations.
/n
- Maintaining clear, timely and proactive communication across both on-site and remote working environments.

Key Knowledge & Experience
/n
/n
- Demonstrated knowledge of producing research reports, market insight papers, executive briefings, stakeholder presentations or publication-ready commentary.
/n
- Demonstrated operating skills of data analytic techniques including Microsoft Power Point, Excel (inc. Power Query) and Power BI.
/n
- Tertiary qualifications in tourism, marketing, statistics, commerce, economics or related discipline.
/n
- Minimum of 4 years' corporate experience in economic studies, market research, consumer insights, or tourism-related data analytics.
