The Network, part of Sovereign Capability Group, is continuing to build a specialist Technology and Defence recruitment practice in Sydney. This is an opportunity for an experienced recruiter to help shape a growing business at the intersection of Defence, national security, technology, and sovereign industrial capability.

Through Sovereign Capability Group, we are also connected to broader capability areas, including the defence industry, engineering, mission‐critical technology, AI, nuclear supply chain services, and sovereign capability programs.

We are looking for a commercially minded Data & AI Recruitment Consultant with recruitment experience to develop client relationships, identify workforce needs, build trusted talent networks and convert market opportunities into sustainable revenue.

The Role

/n

You will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of Data, Analytics and Artificial Intelligence clients across technology, consulting, financial services, healthcare, retail and emerging AI businesses. This will include existing relationships, warm introductions and proactive business development across enterprise organisations, scale‐ups, consultancies and technology vendors.

/n

You will work across permanent and contract recruitment assignments, with a particular focus on Data & AI leadership positions, Data Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, AI Engineering,



Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Governance, Cloud Data Platforms and emerging Generative AI talent.

Key Responsibilities

/n

/n

- Build and manage client relationships across Data, AI, Analytics and Technology sectors

/n

- Develop a territory plan covering existing accounts, target clients and priority relationships

/n

- Generate new business through disciplined sales activity, referrals, account development and market mapping

/n

- Identify, attract and manage high‐quality Data and AI professionals across permanent and contract markets

/n

- Develop and maintain candidate networks across Data Science, AI, Engineering and Analytics communities

/n

- Work closely with clients to understand workforce planning, skills requirements and hiring priorities

/n

- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from client qualification through to offer, placement and onboarding

/n

- Maintain accurate CRM, pipeline, activity and account information

/n

- Stay informed on market trends, emerging technologies and talent availability across the Data & AI landscape

/n

- Contribute to the growth of a specialist Data & AI recruitment practice in Sydney

/n/n

About You

/n

You may already be an experienced Data & AI recruiter or come from a technology recruitment background with exposure to data, digital, software engineering, cloud or analytics recruitment.

/n

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

/n

/n





- Experience in recruitment, account management or business development

/n

- Experience recruiting within Data, AI, Technology, Analytics, Digital or Professional Services markets

/n

- Solid communication skills and confidence engaging with both technical and senior business stakeholders

/n

- A practical understanding of the Data, Analytics or Artificial Intelligence talent landscape

/n

- Proven ability to build and maintain long‐term client and candidate relationships

/n

- Commercial discipline with the ability to manage activity, pipeline and revenue outcomes

/n

- A proactive and consultative approach to business development

/n

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

/n

- High personal standards, resilience and a willingness to build market presence

/n

- Existing networks within Data, AI and Technology sectors will be highly regarded

/n/n
