A little about the role...
/n
We have an opportunity for a mid-level Backend Software Engineer to join our growing product business. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing backend web systems, primarily working with Python-based frameworks. You will also work as part of cross-functional teams, collaborating with product managers, designers, delivery, and fellow engineers.
In addition to supporting established software systems, you will also contribute to new product development initiatives.

The role will suit a mid-level software engineer with a growth mindset who enjoys a challenge and is excited to develop their skills in a new environment. Ideally you'll have experience working as part of cross-functional product delivery teams in early stage environments and an appreciation for customer and market needs.

This role can be located anywhere in Australia, noting that we do have an office available for Melbourne based candidates who prefer to work on-site or hybrid.

You could be the one if you have...
/n
/n
- Experience working as a mid-level software engineer, ideally within an early stage product environment
/n
- Experience working with Python,
especially a web framework like Django, Flask or FastAPI
/n
- Experience working with SQL databases, such as sqlite or Postgres and basic knowledge of SQL and database querying
/n
- Flexibility to perform a diverse range of tasks, from supporting existing software systems to building entirely new products
/n
- An understanding that software needs to respond to customer and market needs
/n
- Experience with basic software development and agile tooling like Git, Jira
/n
- An understanding of the hardware and software components of web applications, especially those deployed on AWS
/n
- Experience working as a part of cross functional teams. Capable of collaborating effectively with product managers, designers, delivery, and other engineers
/n
- Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g. CircleCI) or infrastructure as code (e.g. CDK, Terraform) will be highly regarded but is not essential
/n/n
