Our Water team in WA is entering a pivotal growth phase. With a newly appointed engineering leader bringing decades of experience from Water Corporation, we're setting a new benchmark in consulting engineering. This is a rare opportunity to build capability from the ground up, lead transformational projects, and play a key role in shaping WSP's WA water infrastructure strategy.

The Opportunity
/n
We are seeking a Principal Engineer (Civil / Structural) (Associate and Director-level candidates will also be considered) to provide technical leadership across water and wastewater infrastructure, including:
/n

- Water / Wastewater Treatment
/n
- Project and Design Delivery
/n
- Water-retaining structures and complex assets
/n/n
This is a high‐impact leadership role suited to a well‐connected technical leader who thrives on growing teams, influencing clients, and delivering critical infrastructure with strong national backing.
/n
What You'll Be Driving
/n
/n
- Lead the technical delivery of major water infrastructure projects across WA
/n
- Deliver innovative, practical and future‐ready engineering solutions
/n
- Provide civil/structural leadership across pipelines, pump stations, networks and water‐retaining structures
/n
- Champion Safety in Design, quality, commercial and WHS outcomes
/n
- Play a key role in major pursuits, bids and proposals in the WA water market
/n
- Support business development alongside the Section Executive
/n
- Mentor, coach and grow a high‐performing,
multi‐disciplinary national team
/n
- Collaborate nationally to deliver integrated, high‐value outcomes
/n
- Drive digital engineering and BIM‐enabled delivery
/n/n
About You
/n
You are a respected technical leader with a robust consultancy background and deep experience in water infrastructure.
/n
You'll bring:
/n
/n
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
/n
- 15+ years' experience (Associate level considered with 10+ years)
/n
- Chartered status (CPEng / RPEQ / RPV or equivalent)
/n
- Strong background in water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment, conveyance and water‐retaining structures (structural)
/n
- Proven leadership on major projects, programs or panels
/n
- Strong client relationships—ideally including Water Corporation
/n
- Experience across D&C; projects and contractor engagement
/n
- Track record in proposals, pursuits and strategic business development
/n
- Experience leading geographically dispersed and hybrid teams
/n
- Passion for mentoring and building technical capability
/n/n
