Senior Social Worker – Refugee Health Team

Effective from 1 Jul 2026 – salary range $127,194 – $135,150 p.a. pro‐rate.

Position: Fixed term full‐time until 31 Dec 2026 with possibility of extension or permanency; part‐time (0.8 FTE) may be considered for the right applicant.

/n

A current driver's licence is required.

/n

About the Role

/n

Senior clinical social worker providing advanced assessment, intervention, case management, and leadership in a specialist refugee health setting. You will work collaboratively with children, families, health professionals, schools, community organisations, and government agencies to promote positive health and wellbeing for clients navigating resettlement and accessing health, developmental and social support services.

/n

Key responsibilities include:

/n

/n

- Deliver specialist services in resettlement, child health and development, and child protection.

/n

- Conduct holistic assessments; provide case management; liaise with external service providers.

/n

- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and participate in interagency case conferences.

/n

- Support families to engage with health, education and welfare systems.

/n

- Contribute to service planning, quality improvement initiatives, policy development and program evaluation.

/n

- Identify and respond to child protection, family violence and mental health concerns.

/n

- Build strong partnerships with community agencies and stakeholders to support coordinated service delivery.

/n

- Strengthen family resilience and self‐advocacy.

/n

- Deliver education,



training and consultation to professionals and community groups on refugee health and child wellbeing.

Qualifications and Experience

/n

/n

- A tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

/n

- Advanced skills in individual, child and family therapy, and group work practice with children and families.

/n

- Advanced knowledge of social work theory, practice and policy relating to child health, child development, and child protection within culturally diverse populations.

/n

- Strong understanding of refugee experiences and the social determinants of health; committed to delivering equitable, person‐centred care.
