Job Description
/n
Due to continued growth throughout the business, MLG is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Purchasing Officer to join our Inventory and Purchasing team.
/n
/n
- FIFO from Perth (only candidates currently residing in Perth or Kalgoorlie will be considered)
/n
- 8/6 (8 days on & 6 days off) or 9/5 (9 days on and 5 days off) roster – depending on the project
/n
- A Permanent full‐time position
/n
- Candidates with crushing experience will be highly considered
/n
- Minimum 3+ years' experience as a Purchasing/Stores officer and/or a similar role – (ESSENTIAL)
/n
- Mining experience – (ESSENTIAL)
/n
- HRWL – Forklift Licence – (ESSENTIAL)

Responsibilities
/n
Purchasing Officer
/n
/n
- Raising purchase orders for materials/equipment required at the project
/n
- Monitoring and converting of purchase orders, communicating with suppliers
/n
- Managing the daily receipt and purchasing of goods, their storage and any required issue resolution
/n
- Ensure timely and accurate administration and maintenance of purchasing services, as well as workload management of the storage areas and purchasing's needs
/n
- Negotiating with identified suppliers, providing authoritative, tailored advice and assistance to onsite staff,
and reviewing and monitoring supplies and supplier performance to maintain adequate levels of supply on the (JIT) Principles

Supply Officer
/n
/n
- Implementing processes to maintain stock, undertaking stock takes and managing stock holdings
/n
- Providing assistance in ensuring activities are followed in accordance with HSE rules and regulations, including overseeing/advising on correct storage and handling of hazardous material, participating in waste disposal and maintaining associated equipment
/n
- Managing deliveries of freight and loading/unloading of trucks arriving on site, in line with chain of responsibility (Forklift licence & experience ESSENTIAL)
/n
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, and business policy, procedures and standards
/n
- Participate in continuous improvement activities relating to purchasing and store/inventory practices and procedures
/n
- Analyse usage trends and patterns and generate reports to inform planning and purchasing decision making
/n
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of customers, stakeholders and suppliers in order to facilitate effective delivery of goods and services to clients
/n/n
Desired Skills and Experience
/n
/n
- Perth or Kalgoorlie based candidates – (ESSENTIAL)
/n
- Minimum 3+ years' experience as a Purchasing/Stores officer and/or a similar role – (ESSENTIAL)
/n
- Mining experience – (ESSENTIAL)
/n
- Candidates with crushing experience will be highly considered
/n
- Current & Valid C Class Drivers Licence – (ESSENTIAL)
/n
- HRWL – Forklift Licence – (ESSENTIAL)
/n
- High level of customer service skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders and suppliers, along with the capability to clearly present information that is appropriately targeted to the audience
/n
- A high level of computer literacy, including experience using a purchasing and inventory management system
/n
- Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem‐solving skills to identify errors and issues and develop effective and evidence‐based solutions, including the ability to interpret data and identify evolving trends/issues
/n
- Ability to pass a pre‐employment medical, including a drug & alcohol screen
/n
- Ability to pass applicable security screening requirements (National Police Clearance, etc.)
