The Role

/n

We are seeking an experienced Cost and Finance Analyst to join a high-performing team supporting a major Defence capability program within a collaborative and integrated project office setting. This role will support project execution by providing specialist financial forecasting, cost modelling and analysis expertise to help manage program delivery and inform long-term investment decisions.

/n

You will work closely with Defence and industry stakeholders, providing clear financial insights, trusted commercial advice and practical support across project controls, cost analysis, forecasting and reporting. This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-impact Defence program while further developing your expertise in a structured and forward-looking environment.

Key Responsibilities

/n

/n

- Support the financial management of a major Defence project, including project forecasts, cost estimates and cost models.

/n

- Analyse cost drivers, trends and variances to provide clear, actionable financial insights.

/n

- Provide trusted financial and commercial advice to project teams,



senior leaders and stakeholders.

/n

- Contribute to procurement activities, including financial analysis for proposals and tender processes.

/n

- Ensure alignment with Defence financial frameworks, policies and governance

/n

- requirements.

/n

- Drive improvements in project financial management tools, processes and reporting capability.

/n

- Build strong working relationships to support high-quality and timely program outcomes.

/n

- Assist finance teams with cost modelling, estimation, forecasting and analysis.

/n

- Support project controls and delivery activities across the enterprise.

About You

/n

/n

- You will bring 5-7+ years of experience in cost estimation, financial modelling or forecasting within Defence, government or complex project environments.

/n

- You have a strong understanding of Defence financial management, costing frameworks and procurement processes.

/n

- You are confident developing forecasts, analysing complex data and communicating financial insights for large-scale programs.

/n

- You have advanced Excel capability, including formula development, modelling, forecasting and data visualisation.

/n

- You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail and a focus on accuracy, governance and data integrity.

/n





- You are an Australian citizen and hold, a current AGSVA NV1 security clearance.

/n

- Experience with project controls and project support in a Defence or complex delivery environment.

/n

- Experience supporting cost analysis, cost modelling, estimation and financial forecasting for major programs.

/n

- Exposure to procurement analysis, tender evaluation support and commercial decision-making.

/n

- Experience with data visualisation and business intelligence reporting tools such as Power BI.

/n

- Strong customer engagement skills and the ability to work effectively in an

/n

- integrated Defence and industry environment.
