Purpose of the Role
/n
Working closely with the General Manager, the Sports & Operations Manager will lead the planning and delivery of the Games sport program while overseeing key operational and logistics functions. This is a hands‐on role requiring exceptional organisation, stakeholder management and event delivery skills to ensure a successful Australian Masters Games.

- Coordinate the allocation of sports across the Sports & Operations team.
/n
- Build and maintain strong relationships with National and State Sporting Organisations, sport convenors and organising committees.
/n
- Monitor sport planning across venues, budgets, registrations, volunteers, officials, risk management and event operations.
/n
- Conduct venue audits and ensure Games venues are operationally ready.
/n
- Lead the planning and delivery of Games logistics and operational services.
/n
- Lead, support and develop staff, interns and volunteers to deliver an exceptional participant experience.
/n/n
Selection Criteria
/n
/n
- Tertiary qualifications in Event or Sport Management are desirable but not essential.
/n
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a multi‐sport, major event, National or State sporting body environment.
/n
- Proven experience in operations and logistics in the sport/event management industry.
/n
- Sound financial management skills and experience in negotiating favourable agreements with stakeholders and ensuring quality and on‐time services are provided.
/n
- Demonstrated ability in coordinating multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring that tasks are completed on time.
/n
- Proven ability in establishing and maintaining qualified relationships with key stakeholders.
/n
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate a team to ensure operational outcomes are met.
/n/n

Additional Information

All applicants must have the right and where required appropriate Visa to work in Australia for the duration of the contract period.

This is a contract position, commencing in September 2025 and concluding in December 2027.

The Games office will be established in Newcastle.
