Digital Surfer is an award-winning SEO and digital marketing agency, and we're after a Senior SEO Specialist with 3-5+ years in the industry who's ready to own strategy, lead accounts, and lift the people around them. You've done the hours. You've survived the algorithm updates, recovered the traffic drops, and you can read a SERP like a weather map.

We run SEO, Paid Ads, Web Design, and a quick-growing AI SEO approach for a solid book of Australian & International businesses. Our clients stick around for the long game, which means we're not chasing quick wins.

We're a small, sharp team where the work is real, and the standard is high. Nobody hides here, and nobody gets lost here either.

Our client book is substantial but not needlessly complex. That's deliberate, and for a senior it matters: less firefighting, more doing the work well. Our GM Ryan started as an SEO specialist at Digital Surfer and worked his way up to running the overall team, so the person setting your direction genuinely gets the craft, and nobody above you needs a canonical tag explained.

What you'll do

/n





You'll own accounts from your first week, not busywork. With our General Manager and technical team behind you, you'll:

/n

- Own SEO strategy and direction across a portfolio of key client accounts

/n

- Lead client communication, monthly reporting meetings, and account health

/n

- Develop detailed 1, 3, 6, and 12 month campaign strategies across technical and on-page

/n

- Run competitor analysis, keyword planning, and content briefs

/n

- Direct technical execution alongside our technical SEO team

/n

- Implement conversion tracking and performance benchmarking, and optimise on the data

/n

- Handle schema markup, internal linking, and advanced on-page work with confidence

/n

- Mentor the junior and mid specialists, and lift the standard across the team

/n

- Help shape our AI SEO / GEO offer as search evolves

/n

- Use Claude to compound your output and your clients' outcomes

What we need to see

/n

/n

- 3 to 5+ years hands-on SEO experience, agency-side preferred

/n

- A proven track record moving rankings and retaining happy clients

/n

- Strong on both strategy and technical, and confident directing others on both

/n

- An excellent client communicator, calm under pushback, direct about results and ROI

/n





- Comfortable owning accounts end to end with minimal oversight

/n

- GA4 certified, fluent across GSC, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Agency Analytics, Word Press, and Shopify

/n

- High attention to detail and the time management to juggle multiple accounts

/n/n

Desired Bonus: hands-on experience with AI SEO / GEO, Digital PR, or a real point of view on where search is heading.
