The Position

The Australian National University (ANU) is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Project Officer to join the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Employee Relations team, within the People and Culture Division.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to workplace initiatives that support ANU's commitment to providing a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace for all staff. Working closely with stakeholders across the University, the position will play a key part in facilitating, coordinating and managing projects that support improvements to processes, governance, information management and business practices against Positive Duty obligations under the ACT Discrimination Act, and National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence for staff.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading review of People and Culture operational processes, policies and governance frameworks to assess compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Managing projects from initiation through to implementation, evaluation and transition to business-as-usual operations.
- Supporting implementation activities associated with ACT Discrimination Act Positive Duty reforms and the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence.
- Developing project plans, business process documentation, risk registers, stakeholder engagement strategies, communications and training materials.

The Person





We are seeking an experienced project skilled who can combine strong project management capability with a sound understanding of human resources, employment legislation and organisational change.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Workplace Relations and/or People and Culture functions.
- Knowledge of employment and discrimination legislation, workplace conduct frameworks, psychosocial risks or regulatory compliance.
- Experience supporting legislative reform, governance, compliance or workplace culture projects that span an organisation.
