Service Now Software Engineer - Federal Gov Contract, Canberra

/n

Role: Service Now Software Engineer for a Federal Government contract based in Canberra. Interstate candidates considered. Baseline clearance (minimum) or NV1 clearance required. ASAP start until end of FY 2026 with a potential x12 extension option.

Responsibilities

/n

/n

- Develop Service Now solutions including scripting, configuration, integrations, and customisations.

/n

- Collaborate with business analysts, user researchers and service designers to understand requirements and translate them into iterative prototypes through to final working solutions.

/n

- Maintain and enhance existing Service Now applications and modules.

/n

- Provide advanced technical support for Service Now by troubleshooting, implementing bug fixes and performing root cause analysis.

/n

- Ensure system stability and performance by performing regular maintenance and upgrades.

/n

- Work in accordance with agile principles and participate in agile ceremonies.

/n

- Document all technical designs, specifications, and knowledge transfer materials.

/n

- Collaborate with IT and business teams to develop best practices for Service Now development.

/n

- Train and mentor junior developers.

/n





- Stay up-to-date with new Service Now features and functionalities and incorporate them into development processes.

/n/n

Qualifications & Requirements

/n

/n

- Experience as a Service Now Engineer/Lead Developer with solid scripting, configuration, integrations, and customisation skills.

/n

- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and prototypes.

/n

- Experience maintaining and enhancing Service Now applications; strong debugging and root-cause analysis capabilities.

/n

- Proficiency in agile methodologies and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

/n

- Willingness to train and mentor junior staff and share knowledge.

/n/n
