Job Description

Due to increased demand, SYPAQ is seeking an Operations Research and Analysis Specialist to deliver intelligence and operations analysis related to threat capabilities and current trends, and emerging missile defence capabilities on a Defence project.

The role starts in July and is a 12‐month contract (with extensions). This is an office‐based role in Canberra.

Overview

/n

This position involves scoping substantive defence problems in conjunction with task sponsors and stakeholders, developing scenarios for modelling and simulation, analysing outcomes, and providing analytical support for mission‐critical decision making.

Key Responsibilities & Competencies

/n

/n

- Scoping the missile defence problem with relevant sponsors and stakeholders.

/n

- Defining, analysing and reporting threats regarding MRAD systems.

/n

- Developing study requirements for MRAD system elements in relation to the threat.

/n

- Developing scenarios to support modelling and simulation analysis.

/n

- Selecting appropriate methodologies and design methods.

/n

- Undertaking model and data accreditation and study quality assurance activities.

/n





- Developing models, evaluation frameworks and metrics (conceptual/analytical/numerical/simulation/experimentation).

/n

- Collecting and curating data from models, simulations and live experimentation/war‐gaming activities.

/n

- Analysing model outcomes and interpreting relevance to MRAD.

/n

- Assisting in scope development of MRAD capabilities across technical disciplines such as communication networks, sensors, Integrated Fire Control, weapons, security and command and control.

- Leading the development of MRAD scenarios for modelling and simulation, and Minimum Viable Capability/Capability Target State activities.

Previous Defence experience in modelling and simulation is essential. The successful applicant must be an Australian citizen with a minimum of NV2 clearance or higher.
