We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Water Resources skilled to join our Cairns Water Resources team.

/n

By joining our team, you will work on the most transformative projects and have access to mentoring and guidance from our industry‐leading specialists. You will also be provided with opportunities to collaborate across interstate and international offices as part of the broader Water Resources sector.

/n

AECOM isn't chasing one‐off flood studies or small drainage packages. Our team is sitting on long‐term framework agreements and major infrastructure programs across Queensland and has recently partnered with major utilities to create a substantial pipeline of water infrastructure, planning and resilience work for years to come.

How you'll make a difference

/n

/n

- Be part of a high‐performing team delivering hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, drainage design, and integrated water management solutions, with a strong focus on technical excellence.

/n

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across a range of geographies to deliver integrated outcomes.

/n

- Contribute to an exciting and diverse portfolio of projects across all market sectors, including energy, transport, water, environment, and government, across Queensland and beyond.

/n

- Actively support the development and winning of proposals.

/n

- Take on project leadership and mentoring responsibilities to support the development of junior staff.

/n/n

Qualifications

/n

/n

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Engineering discipline, Water Resource Management,



or Environmental Science/Hydrology, with RPEV / CPEng (or working towards) highly regarded, and ideally 5+ years of relevant professional experience.

/n

- Demonstrated experience with water resource modelling and design tools such as TUFLOW, DRAINS, HEC‐RAS (1D and 2D), RORB, XPRAFTS, and URBS.

/n

- Strong working knowledge of industry standards and guidelines such as ARR 2019, QUDM, TMR manual and Aust Roads.

/n

- Strong client focus with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders.

/n

- Highly motivated and adaptable, with the ability to work both independently and within teams, and contribute effectively to projects with competing priorities and deadlines.

/n/n
