Safety Advisor – Health, Safety & Sustainability

Hastings Deering is looking for an experienced Safety Advisor to join our Health, Safety & Sustainability division. This permanent, full-time role (Monday to Friday) is based out of our Cairns office. Reporting to the Safety Manager, the primary responsibility is to coordinate all aspects of Health, Safety, Sustainability & Risk Management for Hastings Deering employees working within our operations teams.

Responsibilities

/n

/n

- Provide expert advice and assistance to facilitate a protected working environment and ensure work practices comply with Company policy and recognised and legislated Work Health & Safety regulations and procedures.

/n

- Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment or practices to ensure compliance.

/n

- Assist in the maintenance and optimisation of the Safety Management System in accordance with Hastings Deering and legislative requirements.

/n

- Facilitate Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) investigations as required.

/n

- Coordinate incident investigation, reporting and corrective actions.

/n

- Ensure environmental policies and procedures are adhered to.

/n





- Develop and implement site‐specific safety strategies and initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

/n

/n

- Formal qualification(s) in Work Health and Safety (minimum Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety) HLTPAT005.

/n

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).

/n

- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role.

/n

- Incident investigation and reporting experience.

/n

- Desirable: Specimen collection for drug of abuse testing.

/n/n
