Engineering Trades Australia is currently seeking experienced Underground Electricians for ongoing work at a major underground mining operation in North-West Queensland.
/n
The operation is an underground hard-rock mine with extensive mobile mining equipment, underground electrical infrastructure and surface processing facilities. This is an excellent prospect for an experienced mining electrician looking for a consistent 7:7 roster, competitive flat rate and long-term work.

About the Role
/n
Working as part of the underground maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of underground mining equipment and electrical infrastructure.
/n
Your duties may include;
/n
/n
- Fault-finding, diagnostics and breakdown response
/n
- Maintenance and repairs on Sandvik underground drills, cable bolters and other mobile mining equipment
/n
- Maintenance of Normet shotcreters, pumps,
ventilation systems and underground services
/n
- HV/LV isolation, testing and electrical fault-finding
/n
- Installation of underground electrical infrastructure
/n
- Cable installation, terminations and equipment connections
/n
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
/n
- Working closely with the mining and maintenance teams to maximize equipment availability

Requirements
/n
/n
- Current QLD Electrical Licence
/n
- Previous underground mining experience
/n
- Current CPR & LVR
/n
- Construction White Card
/n
- Working at Heights, Confined Space – within 2-years
/n
- National Police clearance
/n
- 7:7 roster
/n
- FIFO flights from Brisbane, Cairns or Townsville
