2027 Pain Registrar

Limited Term Full Time position
Work across diverse hospital and community settings within Eastern Health.

Unique opportunity to gain exposure to anaesthetics and pain medicine

About the role

This position is ideal for a Registrar with an interest in Anaesthetics and Pain Medicine. The role is split evenly between anaesthesia and pain management, providing excellent exposure to both specialties under the supervision of Consultant Anaesthetists and Pain Medicine Specialists.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Anaesthetics, this position is based across multiple Eastern Health campuses, including Box Hill Hospital, Maroondah Hospital, Angliss Hospital, Peter James Centre and Yarra Ranges Health. The Registrar will work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality anaesthesia and pain management services, providing safe, patient‑centred care and contributing to clinical excellence across a diverse patient population.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

Current unrestricted medical registration with AHPRA
A minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience and at least 6 months' experience in Anaesthetics (desirable)
Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
A strong commitment to high quality care
The ability to work as part of a diverse team

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice).



Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
