POSITION

We have a full-time position of Truck Driver in Bartle Frere QLD 4861.

SKILLS

The role requires you to have;

- at least a relevant Certificate II or Certificate III, and at least 12 months of relevant work experience OR
- 2 Years of relevant work experience AND
- Current QLD Drivers Licence OR the ability to obtain one.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Truck Driver is responsible for the protected and efficient transportation of harvested banana bunches between the business two banana farms. The role ensures harvested fruit is moved promptly from the harvesting farm to the processing and packing facility, maintaining product quality while complying with workplace health and safety requirements, road transport legislation, and company procedures.

POSITION DUTIES

- Meeting with farm management to receive assigned duties.
- Operate Truck to transport harvested banana bunches between the company's banana plantations.
- Safely load skid trailers containing harvested banana bunches onto the truck using appropriate loading equipment and procedures.
- Inspect and ensure loads are correctly positioned, balanced, and securely restrained in accordance with load restraint requirements before transport.




- Transport harvested banana bunches promptly and safely to the processing and packing facility to maintain product quality and minimise delays.
- Unload and position skid trailers at the designated processing area for efficient unloading and packing operations.
- Conduct daily pre-start, operational, and post-operation inspections of trucks, trailers, and associated equipment.
- Report vehicle defects, maintenance requirements, accidents, or safety concerns promptly to management.
- Maintain accurate transport records, including delivery movements, vehicle inspections, and maintenance logs as required.
- Liaise with farm supervisors, harvesting crews, and packing shed staff to coordinate transport schedules and ensure continuous workflow.
- Ensure compliance with QLD road transport legislation, biosecurity requirements, and workplace health and safety policies.
- Maintain a clean and well-presented vehicle and ensure all equipment is stored safely after use.

SALARY

The position will attract a salary between $70,000 to $80,000 per annum.
