Join us in making a difference! We're seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Casual Youth Worker in our supported youth accommodation setting.

The youth service works to a 24-hour roster with a mix of day, afternoon and passive (or overnight) shifts. We are looking for someone who has experience in building therapeutic relationships with young people and who has a passion to guide young people towards independence through engagement with living skills, education, work and connection to community.

The role will involve working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. It is important that the right candidate has knowledge of trauma informed practice, experience responding to high- risk situations and maintaining professional boundaries.

The role may be perfect for someone who already works in community services and is looking to make a difference in another setting, otherwise University students who are looking for an prospect to grow and develop in their skills in the homeless sector.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, deliver and review casework with young people, including intake, assessment, case management, referrals and record keeping.
- Build safe, respectful and positive relationships within the residential environment.
- Support daily living activities, housekeeping and the development of independent living skills.
- Encourage young people to build and maintain relationships, interests and community connections.
- Work collaboratively using a client-focused, strengths-based approach.
- Respond professionally to young people's needs,



requests and behaviours.
- Support young people to build confidence, self-esteem and motivation.
- Maintain current knowledge and best practice in youth support services.

Skills & Experience:

- Experience supporting young people with complex needs.
- Ability to engage and work effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Tertiary qualification in Community Services, Social Work or related field, or equivalent extensive community services experience (essential).
- Certificate III or IV in Youth Work, Juvenile Justice or Alcohol & Other Drugs (highly desirable).
- Psychological suitability to work in a Children's Residential Facility (essential or willingness to undertake assessment).
- Current Working with Children Check (essential).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential).
