About the role

Provide friendly customer service in a busy hospital café, preparing food and beverages, making barista coffee, processing sales, and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards. Staff may be rostered over a 7-day roster on an on-call casual basis.

Key duties of the role

- Food and beverage preparation and serving, stock management and customer service in the Gilbert and Nic Nath Café's.
- Barista coffee making including operating the espresso coffee machine to prepare coffee and other hot drinks to the required standards.
- Prepare food and beverages according to standard operating procedures, recipes, and quality standards and serve customers promptly.
- Operating POS and EFTPOS systems in an accurate and timely manner according to standard procedures and customer service principles
- Completion of cleaning duties to required standards whilst maintaining a clean and hygienic environment

Skills and Experience

- Experience in a Café or Hospitality environment.
- Extensive experience in Barista coffee making to be able to consistently produce a high-quality product.
- Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively as part of an effective team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers at all levels, cultures, and backgrounds.
