Your recent role:

The purpose of this role is, under the supervision of senior medical staff, to provide high-quality, safe care to patients within medical specialties and subspecialties. This role will include attending to both emergency and elective admissions, review of inpatients, and participation in ward rounds and outpatient clinics. This role also provides supervision, feedback, teaching and support to interns, house officers and medical students. Participate in patient history taking and diagnosis, including ordering relevant tests.

Advocate for the patients which includes protecting the patient, being the patient's voice, provision of quality care and interpersonal relationship as well as educating the patient. Participate in the development of patients' treatment and development plans.

About you:

Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties. MBBS, MD or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia. Clinical expertise should be appropriate for working toward training with FRANZCR.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.

We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a recent Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.

We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
