Due to high levels of ongoing growth, we have an opportunity for a design engineer with a minimum 3+ years’ experience to join our established engineering team. This role is a full-time position within the company.

As a part of our engineering team, we offer you a supportive learning environment with close working relationships with the engineering team and senior team members. You will be able to be involved with all areas of project design, including producing tenders, undertaking engineering design of new structures, including reservoir roof designs and civil designs, design drawings, fabrication drawings, QA of fabricated materials and parts, and verification of designs on site (as-constructed). This role also involves design support through the construction phase, working closely with our construction team to verify the on-site build is as designed.

At Water Infrastructure Services (WIS), we provide active support to your professional and technical development for you to work towards and attain your Chartered Engineering Qualification, including providing on-the-job learning, external training, and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

- Undertaking engineering designs for a range of structures, including aluminium and steel roof structures, access structures, platforms, etc.

- Producing associated reports and drafting for the design works. Strong proficiency in AutoCad (model space and paper space)



is required to produce design and fabrication drawings.

- Working with fabricators including undertaking QA of fabricated items to ensure they are as designed.

- Producing engineering tenders for design works.

What we're looking for

- A bachelors degree or higher in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.

- A practical approach to engineering, especially in terms of design for real word buildability.

- Proficient in AutoCAD, including model space and paper space, and producing drawings for construction.

- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, including formatting, presentation, and writing skills.

- Time management skills - self-sufficient in progressing projects & able to work steadily to achieve deadlines.

- Reliable, a team player, a pro-active nature, strong organisational skills, and an ability to work in a quick-paced environment.
