Smith & Co is recruiting on behalf of a well-established Australian manufacturer renowned for designing and building premium food processing equipment used by businesses across Australia and overseas. You'll play a key role in assembling high-quality, custom-built machinery from detailed engineering drawings. Working in a contemporary Crestmead workshop, you'll be involved in every stage of the build process, ensuring equipment is assembled to the highest standards before installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble custom food processing and industrial machinery
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly plans
- Install, align and fit mechanical components and assemblies
- Carry out mechanical adjustments, testing and quality checks
- Work closely with engineers and the production team to deliver completed projects
What You'll Bring
- Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter
- Previous experience in machinery assembly or manufacturing
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Strong communication skills and a proactive team-first attitude
Desirable Experience
- OEM or workshop assembly experience
- Conveyor systems or processing equipment
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Stainless steel machinery or food manufacturing equipment
Salary & Benefits
- $55 per hour casual
