Your Opportunity
As The Business Analyst, Digital Transformation Program You Will
- Lead business analysis activities for assigned Digital Transformation Program projects and work packages, including initiatives relating to enterprise content management, business process automation, data and analytics, information management, digital workplace technologies, cybersecurity and compliance improvements, and organisation-wide digital capability uplift.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business needs, document current and future-state processes, define requirements, support solution options and ensure analysis outputs provide clear, practical and traceable inputs for project delivery, governance, testing, change and implementation planning.
This position reports to the Program Manager, Digital Transformation Program.
This is a Temporary, Full time opportunity, to 27 August 2027 unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based primarily at Mount Gravatt, however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities for assigned Digital Transformation Program projects and work packages from initiation through to implementation, ensuring business needs, requirements and outcomes are clearly understood, documented, delivered and aligned to program objectives.
- Elicit, analyse, document and validate business, functional, non-functional, process, data, reporting and operational requirements using appropriate analysis techniques, including workshops, interviews, process reviews, document analysis and stakeholder consultation.
- Develop and maintain fit-for-purpose business analysis documents, including requirements documentation, process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria, traceability matrices, business rules, decision records, issue logs and implementation inputs.
- Analyse current-state processes, systems, pain points, risks and opportunities to support future-state design, process improvement, solution options, benefits realisation and practical implementation planning.
- Work closely with project managers, implementation leads, technical specialists, vendors, business representatives, customer experience, user adoption and change resources to ensure requirements are feasible, understood and translated into delivery activity.
- Support stakeholder engagement, communications and change activities by providing clear analysis outputs, business context, impact information, process changes and implementation considerations for affected users and teams.
- Contribute to solution assessment and validation by supporting design reviews, options analysis, testing preparation, test scenario development, user acceptance testing, defect triage and business readiness activities.
- Identify, document and escalate requirement gaps, risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions and decisions early, ensuring project and program governance forums receive accurate analysis and clear recommendations where decisions are required.
- Prepare and contribute to project and governance materials, including analysis summaries, briefing notes, decision papers, requirements updates, stakeholder insights, risks, issues and recommendations to support transparent delivery control.

How You Will Be Assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
- Demonstrated experience undertaking business analysis activities in complex ICT, digital transformation, business improvement or change environments,
including the ability to define business needs and translate them into clear, practical and testable requirements.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capability, including experience documenting current and future-state processes, identifying gaps, risks, dependencies and opportunities, and providing evidence-based recommendations to support delivery outcomes.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain business analysis documents such as requirements documentation, process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria, traceability matrices, business rules, testing inputs and decision records.
- High level communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to work with business users, technical teams, vendors and project resources to clarify needs, resolve ambiguity and build shared understanding.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer-focused service delivery, collaboration, continuous improvement and successful change adoption, while modelling TAFE Queensland’s values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
Highly Desirable Requirements
- Experience supporting ICT, digital transformation, business improvement, process improvement, change or implementation initiatives in a complex organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to use business analysis, process mapping, requirements management, testing, reporting or collaboration tools to document work, maintain traceability and support project governance.
- Relevant business analysis, agile, project, change, service management or process improvement qualifications, certifications or equivalent practical experience would be highly regarded.
