Operational Leadership

- Lead and supervise the AM Operations team.

- Provide daily direction to drivers, forklift operators and warehouse staff.

- Allocate labour effectively to meet operational demands.

- Ensure all freight is dispatched within required service levels.

- Monitor depot workflow and adjust resources throughout the shift.

- Escalate operational issues promptly and provide practical solutions.

- Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the depot.

- Ensure equipment and operational resources are utilised efficiently.

Allocation & Fleet Coordination

- Complete daily vehicle allocations and route planning.

- Maximise vehicle utilisation and driver productivity.

- Ensure runs are allocated accurately and efficiently.

- Monitor departure times and delivery schedules.

- Communicate operational changes to drivers throughout the shift.

- Minimise unnecessary kilometres and overtime.

- Assist with linehaul and local fleet coordination where required.

Team Leadership

- Create a positive, respectful and high-performing workplace culture.

- Lead by example through professionalism and strong work ethic.

- Coach, mentor and develop employees.

- Conduct daily pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.

- Address performance concerns promptly and professionally.





- Recognise and encourage positive performance.

Safety & Compliance

- Promote a strong safety culture.

- Ensure all employees comply with company policies and procedures.

- Verify pre-start inspections are completed.

- Monitor fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility compliance.

- Ensure PPE requirements are adhered to.

- Investigate and report incidents, hazards and near misses.

- Conduct regular workplace inspections.

Key Skills & Experience

- Previous experience supervising a transport or warehouse operation.

- Extensive knowledge of transport allocation and route planning.

- Solid leadership and people management skills.

- Excellent organisational and planning ability.

- High level of computer literacy.

- Experience using Transport Management Systems.

- Ability to work under pressure and make sound operational decisions.

- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
