Are you a trade-qualified Mechanical Technician looking for a field-based role with variety, autonomy and strong earning potential?
Adecco is partnering with a leading provider of industrial power generation and critical equipment solutions to recruit an experienced Field Service Technician to join their Newcastle team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of diesel generators and associated power systems while enjoying the support of a well-established national organisation.
With a fully maintained service vehicle, quality tools and ongoing training provided, you'll play a key role in ensuring customers' critical power systems remain operational and reliable across the Hunter Region and surrounding areas.
The Opportunity
Working across Newcastle, the Hunter Region and surrounding areas, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing diesel-powered generators and power generation equipment at customer sites.
This is a Monday to Friday position with opportunities for overtime and additional earnings.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair diesel generators and associated mechanical systems
- Diagnose faults and respond to equipment breakdowns in the field
- Complete preventative maintenance activities and scheduled servicing
- Conduct inspections and ensure equipment meets safety and operational standards
- Prepare service documentation and maintenance reports
- Liaise with customers to provide technical advice and support
- Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and ongoing maintenance solutions
About You
To be successful in this position, you will possess:
- A recognised Mechanical Trade qualification
- Previous experience working on diesel engines, generators, pumps, heavy equipment or similar rotating machinery
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A proactive, safety-focused approach to work
- The ability to work independently while managing your own schedule
Highly Regarded
- Experience servicing diesel generators or standby power systems
- Exposure to industrial power generation equipment
- Experience working in a field service environment
- Electrical or engine management system exposure
