We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

John Curtin College of the Arts (JCCA) is a leader in public education. Our commitment is to not only build capacity in students’ academic pursuits but to make each child the very best person they can be by celebrating achievements in all facets of education, using creativity to promote excellence and nurture wellbeing.

Our college is located on Wadjuk Boodjar in Walyalup (Fremantle) and caters for 1750 students from Years 7 to 12 who come to us through the seven Gifted and Talented programs run by the college for children identified as gifted in the creative domain, including; Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Drama, Media Arts, Music, Music Theatre and Visual Arts, as well as through a small local catchment or participation in our Soccer Excellence Program, making the college a unique learning environment. For our enrolled students the college also goes through an additional identification process for learners gifted in the intellectual domain and runs a dedicated program for these students in English, Humanities, Maths and Science.

Engagement in creativity and the Arts is as a vehicle for student engagement and motivation at the college. The Arts at John Curtin is as much about providing energetic opportunities for all students (each year we produce over 100 performances/exhibitions) as it is about developing transferable life skills such as empathy, creative and critical thinking, collaboration, and the ability to communicate, all important attributes for any future pathway. The Role

School Officers would have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles within the different administration areas of JCCA ideally delivering outstanding service to our College community.

Ideally, you will have relevant experience, capacity and willingness to undertake a wide range of a support services to a high standard including but not limited to marketing and communications, events enrolments, timetabling, attendance, learning area support, student services, school reporting, finance and procurement processes, occupational health and safety procedures and requirements, and recording of a school’s physical assets and resources.

Suitable applicants should have a good understanding of relevant systems within a busy secondary school business context. You should possess a willingness to adapt and an eagerness to learn new skills. You will ideally have sound organisational skills, possess the ability to keep to timelines in their day to day working environment and be a supportive, capable team member. Attention to detail and working within the Department of Education's procedures and processes is highly desirable.

Suitable applicants should have strong proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office, particularly MS Word and Excel, along with well-developed skills in spreadsheet processing. Experience with school-based administration systems such as RM Billing, RM Finance, Timetabling,



Reporting to Parents (RTP), SIS, and Compass will be highly regarded. Applicants should display excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the interpersonal skills necessary to liaise effectively across all levels of the school community while delivering high quality, customer focused service.

Strong organisational and time management skills are important, including the ability to prioritise tasks, work independently, and contribute effectively within a team environment to meet deadlines and achieve planned outcomes.

Eligibility

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
