Permanent Part Time (21 hrs per fortnight)

$111,798 – $132,585 salary package - includes base salary ($98,499 – $116,813), paid pro rata, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Interior Design educator on a permanent part time basis (21 hrs per fortnight) at Kingscliff campus, to inspire students through their creative learning journey.

In this role you will share your industry experience, and your knowledge and passion for Interior Design and Interior Decoration to help students build their skills, gain qualifications, and enhance their employability.



Your guidance will support students in achieving their career goals in the Design Industry.

The successful candidate may need to travel on an ad-hoc basis between Kingscliff and Murwillumbah campuses and other locations to support teaching and learning outcomes.

About You

You are a qualified Design professional with a genuine passion for design education. You bring demonstrated skills and experience including hand drawing, technical and CAD (SketchUp) drafting skills

You are an engaging communicator who can build positive relationships with students and colleagues, and you are adaptable, organised and committed to delivering exceptional learning experiences and mentoring emerging designers.

To be successful in the role, you will:

1. Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills, and at minimum hold a Certificate IV in Interior Design or Interior Decoration, or related field, or equivalent.
2. Have a minimum of three years post-qualification industry experience relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
3. Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document here for details.
4. Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency, and trainer/assessor competence.

Highly regarded:

- A Diploma (or above)



of Interior Design or related field
- Skills in 3D design and digital rendering tools
- Competence in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
