Job Description

/n

Royal Far West seeks an experienced Senior Social Worker (Identified) to join our multidisciplinary Child & Family team. The role delivers evidence‐informed, culturally responsive social work services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families from rural and remote communities across NSW, supporting developmental, behavioural, learning and mental health outcomes.

In this senior clinical role you will provide assessment, intervention, case management, advocacy, care coordination and discharge planning for children and their families. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while providing cultural consultation, practice leadership, supervision and mentoring to students and early career social workers.

The role also contributes to strengthening culturally safe practice across Royal Far West and to developing strong relationships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and community stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Experience

/n

/n

- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity (identified position)

/n

- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), and significant post‐qualification qualified experience

/n

- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families, with a deep understanding of culture, kinship systems, community strengths and the impacts of intergenerational trauma

/n

- Advanced experience in paediatric child and family social work, including assessment, intervention, advocacy, care coordination, case management and discharge planning

/n

- Demonstrated ability to provide practice education, supervision, mentoring and leadership to students and/or early career social workers

/n

- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, child safe practices, family‐centred and trauma‐informed approaches, together with the ability to deliver culturally safe and inclusive services

/n

- Understanding of the opportunities and challenges experienced by children and families living in rural and remote communities

/n

- Experience contributing to service development, quality improvement, evaluation, research and/or clinical supervision activities
