Safety Advisor – High Voltage & Renewable Energy Projects

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join our team in Brisbane. This role offers a unique blend of field-based project support and office-based advisory services, providing exposure to a diverse range of clients and projects across Queensland and Australia.

The Opportunity

/n

This position is ideally suited to an experienced safety professional who enjoys balancing site-based engagement with strategic safety support.

/n

The successful candidate will typically spend:

/n

/n

- 2 days per week on project sites conducting inspections, audits and supporting operational teams

/n

- 3 days per week in our Brisbane office supporting safety management systems, client advisory services, investigations and project compliance activities

/n/n

You will work across a variety of industries with a particular focus on:

/n

/n

- High Voltage Infrastructure

/n

- Electrical Substations

/n

- Oil & Gas & Resources

/n

- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

/n/n

Key Responsibilities

/n

Field-Based Responsibilities

/n

/n

- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and verification activities

/n

- Provide practical HSEQ advice to project teams and contractors

/n

- Facilitate toolbox talks, pre-starts and safety meetings

/n

- Participate in risk assessments and SWMS reviews

/n





- Support permit-to-work and isolation processes

/n

- Monitor compliance with WHS and Electrical Safety legislation

/n

- Assist with incident investigations and corrective action management

/n

- Promote positive safety culture and workforce engagement

/n

- Liaise with client representatives, site management and subcontractors

/n/n

Office-Based Responsibilities

/n

/n

- Develop and review safety management systems and procedures

/n

- Prepare client reports, audits and compliance documentation

/n

- Assist clients with legislative compliance obligations

/n

- Conduct risk assessments and project safety planning

/n

- Support tender submissions and safety documentation

/n

- Analyse incident and lead indicator data

/n

- Assist with contractor management processes

/n

- Provide remote HSEQ support to project teams and clients

/n

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across HSB Resources

/n/n

About You

/n

To be successful in this role you will possess:

/n

/n

- Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum)

/n

- Current Construction White Card

/n

- Current First Aid & CPR Certification

/n

- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Safety Advisor position

/n

- Strong understanding of Queensland WHS legislation

/n





- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

/n

- Current Australian Driver's Licence

/n

- Ability to travel to project sites as required

/n/n

Highly Desirable

/n

/n

- Experience on High Voltage electrical projects

/n

- Experience working on substations, transmission lines or distribution projects

/n

- Renewable energy project experience (Solar, Wind or BESS)

/n

- ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training

/n

- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in WHS

/n

- Electrical Safety qualifications

/n

- Experience working with EPC contractors, utilities or principal contractors

/n/n
