We are seeking an experienced Paint and Blast Supervisor to join our team onsite for an outage on a power station just north of Brisbane.
As a Supervisor you will deliver high‑quality project services to the client and provide supervision and coordination as directed by the Outage Superintendents, Project Manager and the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise abrasive blasting and industrial painting crews.
- Manage daily blasting and painting activities.
- Ensure correct surface preparation and coating application.
- Coordinate inspections and quality of work.
- Ensure correct material, machinery, equipment and personnel are available and suitable for completion of work.
- Conduct toolbox / pre‑start meetings daily.
- Assess risks and hazards involved in tasks and implement methods to manage them to prevent incidents, injury and damage.
- Maintain daily timesheets for labour and equipment.
- Ensure that the quality requirements of the client are adhered to and that company procedures are followed.
- Drive safety culture in line with UGL and client requirements.
Qualifications
- Relevant trade certificate or qualifications.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience in maintenance or shutdown projects.
- Experience working in a major hazard facility.
- White Card, Working at Heights and Confined Space certificates.
- Solid communication and written skills with the ability to establish clear lines of control and delegation.
- Approachable, tactful with good time management skills.
- Strong client focus and a genuine desire to assist team members.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
