three-month project focused on thescale-up and process optimisation of METASORB's PFAS-free, ultra-durable barrier coatings.
Working directly with our technical team, the intern will gain hands-on experience across:
Coating formulation and batch scale-up
Improving process reproducibility
Spray-application optimisation
Testing coatings across aluminium, steel and polymer substrates
Preparing samples for defence and industry feasibility studies
Supporting the development of durable protective systems for marine, land and air applications
We're looking for a postgraduate student with experience inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science or a related field. Practical laboratory experience with polymers, coatings, solvent-based reactions or formulation development would be highly regarded.
What's included:
Three-month project commencing from October
$20,000 scholarship funded through DIN
Hands-on experience working on real defence and industrial applications
Applicants must be postgraduate students at a DIN member university and Australian citizens or permanent residents. Some projects may require Australian citizenship.
