About This Role

Dynamic security role at the re-opening Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct. Perfect job for problem solvers with great verbal communication skills. Full training provided, including a fully-funded Certificate IV in Youth Justice. Earn up to $99,645 per year, on a base of $62,104 (including standard penalty rates). Relocation allowance available for eligible candidates.

Background

Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct has reopened and will house a small group of young men in custody aged 17 and over. Night youth justice workers are the frontline staff who will supervise and support young people overnight at Malmsbury.

Responsibilities

- conduct regular wellbeing checks of young people
- redirect anti-social and challenging behaviour
- monitor CCTV, complete compliance reporting and respond to any alarms
- respond to incidents as they occur
- facilitate support from other services, including health and mental health providers, educators and disability organisations.

Eligibility and Requirements

- must be either an Australian citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen who has entered Australia on a valid passport or is eligible to work in Australia for more than six months.




- pass a health and fitness assessment.
- independently obtain current First Aid Certification (HLTAID011), current CPR Certification, and a valid Working with Children Check (Employee). All certificates must be valid for at least three months from employment start date.
- a driver's licence is desirable but not mandatory.

- Relocation allowance up to $10,000 for eligible candidates who are interested in moving to within an hour's drive of the facility.
