About the Role
We are seeking a Qualified Chef to join our team at our facility in Mt Lofty. You will manage kitchen operations, prepare meals, and lead a small team to deliver healthy, nutritious, home‐style meals for residents. Base Salary $73,000–$85,000.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare meals that meet individual resident dietary requirements, including special diets and texture‐modified foods.
Plan menus and develop recipes.
Control food costs within budget, conduct stock takes, and place orders.
Manage supplier relationships and contracts.
Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and cooking techniques in compliance with food safety legislation.
Follow cleaning schedules and documentation requirements; perform regular audits.
Ensure team complies with strict food safety and hygiene standards in aged care.
Lead, manage, and motivate the kitchen team to provide outstanding customer service and quality food.
Qualifications and Experience




Experience managing food costs and a kitchen in an aged care or retirement living environment.
Trade qualification in commercial cooking.
Enthusiastic and proud of delivering high‐quality service and food.
Ability to work a 7‐day roster.
Resident‐centered customer service orientation.
Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills.
Flexible, reliable, and self‐motivated.
Confident team player with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for nutritious home‐cooked meals.
