Role Description

The Civil Infrastructure Inspector role is a full-time, on-site position based in North Booval, QLD. In this role, the inspector is responsible for conducting field inspections of civil infrastructure such as roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks, and related assets to ensure compliance with design specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing construction drawings, checking works against approved plans, documenting findings, preparing inspection reports, and raising non-conformance issues where necessary. The role involves liaising with contractors, engineers, project managers, and local authorities to resolve issues,



clarify technical requirements, and ensure that safety and quality standards are met throughout project delivery. The inspector also monitors progress on-site, verifies that materials and workmanship meet required standards, and contributes to continuous improvement of inspection processes and asset performance.

Qualifications

- Relevant technical skills in civil infrastructure inspection, including understanding of roads, drainage, utilities, and earthworks, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of applicable standards, codes, and regulatory requirements for civil construction and infrastructure, including quality assurance and safety compliance.
- Strong reporting and documentation skills, with the ability to record inspection outcomes, prepare explicit written reports, and maintain accurate site records.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate with contractors, engineers, supervisors, and local authorities on site-related issues.
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities for identifying non-conformances, assessing risks, and recommending practical corrective actions.
- Experience working in field-based or site-based roles within civil construction, local government, or infrastructure asset management is highly beneficial.
- Certificate, diploma, or degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in civil infrastructure inspection.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety, including adherence to safe work practices and site-specific requirements.
