We are seeking a Field Service Technician - Leading Hand to join our Mackay-based team. This role is ideal for an experienced technician who enjoys a mix of hands‐on mechanical work, onsite leadership and customer engagement.

You'll be responsible for supervising field service activities, supporting technicians, and ensuring protected, high-quality service delivery across a variety of customer sites.
/n
Reporting to the Field Service Manager - East, you will play a key role in supporting our customers, coordinating service work and ensuring a seamless onsite experience.
/n
What you'll do
/n
/n
- Lead and supervise field service technicians on customer sites
/n
- Act as the main onsite technical contact for customers and technicians
/n
- Coordinate job planning, scheduling and resource allocation
/n
- Support development of scopes of work, job plans and pricing
/n
- Ensure timely completion of reports, timesheets and expenses
/n
- Perform hands‐on mechanical service work, including inspections, installs and maintenance
/n
- Interpret drawings and hydraulic schematics to ensure correct processes are followed
/n
- Assist with complex technical issues alongside Technical Support teams
/n
- Ensure all work meets Metso's HS&E;, quality and documentation standards
/n
- Promote Metso products and support warranty and RCA processes where required
/n/n
Who you are
/n
/n
- Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial equipment technical support and service
/n
- Relevant Mechanical Trade certificate
/n
- At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
/n
- Strong troubleshooting capability and ability to lead teams under varied conditions
/n
- Ability to read hydraulic schematics
/n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
/n
- Physically fit and able to pass random medical and drug tests
/n
- Ability to travel on short notice
