Senior Architect – Darwin

TESS Search Partners is proud to be partnering with IA Group (IA), a nationally respected design and advisory practice, to appoint a Senior Architect for their Darwin studio. This role is designed to strengthen IA’s local architectural capability across a growing pipeline of commercial, defence, health and education projects.

Reporting to senior leadership, this role sits at the intersection of project delivery, technical leadership and client engagement.

Based in Darwin, you will play a key role in managing architectural projects while supporting the growth of IA’s local client base in a market driven by significant infrastructure and institutional investment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage architectural projects across all phases
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants and contractors throughout delivery
- Undertake project briefing, site audits and design coordination
- Oversee documentation, compliance and construction processes
- Manage consultant teams and contractor engagement
- Lead project meetings, reporting and stakeholder communication
- Contribute to tenders, proposals and client presentations
- Monitor project progress,



identify risks early and drive best for project outcomes

Ideally, you will be someone who enjoys ownership of projects and working closely with clients to deliver practical, high-quality outcomes. You are comfortable operating across both design and delivery phases and enjoy balancing technical detail with commercial awareness.

You are likely to demonstrate:

- Proven experience delivering architectural projects end-to-end
- Strong understanding of construction methodology, documentation and compliance
- Relevant qualifications and registration (or working towards)
- Confidence engaging with clients, builders and consultants at senior levels
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and project financials
- Strong communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach
