The Inventory Manager – Maritime Sustainment will support the Australian Border Force’s (ABF) and Evolved Cape Class Patrol Boat (ECCPB) program and integrate it into the Maritime Sustainment Model (MSM). This is a complex and high‑impact role responsible for ensuring that materiel and inventory requirements are fully aligned to maintenance activities and that sustainment outcomes are delivered on schedule for the first ABF ECCPB.

Key Responsibilities

- Align inventory directly to maintenance activities across:
- Operational, Intermediate, and Deep Level Maintenance (OLM / ILM / DLM)

- Ensure all parts and materials are forecast, ordered and delivered in time to meet maintenance schedules.
- Work closely with planners to translate maintenance plans into real‑world supply requirements.
- Identify what parts are needed, where to get them and how long they’ll take to arrive.
- Ensure procurement timing and staging supports actual vessel availability; not just planning assumptions.
- Work out how ABF inventory is managed inside Defence systems, including:

- Items required for codification.
- How stock is tracked and accounted for.
- How inventory is managed across duel environments.

- Forecast demand using engineering inputs and usage patterns.
- Manage reverse logistics pipelines (repairables, returns, refurbishment).
- Provide inventory assurance, ensuring accuracy,

visibility, and accountability.

Skills and Experience

- Strong experience in Defence Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) or logistics/inventory environments.
- Demonstrated experience in maritime sustainment environments.
- Prior experience with ECCPB or similar vessels.
- Deep understanding of Defence systems, processes, and constraints.
- Proven ability to:
- Align inventory with maintenance or engineering demand.
- Manage procurement timing and supply risk.
- Solve complex logistics problems, not just follow process.
- Experience with inventory assurance, forecasting and reverse supply chains.
