About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in TypeScript, Playwright, and up-to-date Quality Engineering practices to join a leading BFSI organisation in Sydney. This role is ideal for a passionate engineer who thrives on building scalable automation frameworks, driving quality engineering transformation, and embedding automation into modern DevSecOps delivery pipelines. Key Responsibilities Lead the transformation of test automation strategy and quality engineering practices across enterprise applications. Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable automation frameworks using TypeScript and Playwright . Enable continuous testing through CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices. Build on-demand test environments and scalable test data solutions to support parallel and concurrent execution. Improve automation reliability by reducing test flakiness and optimizing execution performance. Apply engineering best practices including SOLID , DRY , and Separation of Concerns principles to deliver clean,
maintainable, and extensible automation solutions. Drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle by collaborating closely with development, QA, and platform engineering teams. Contribute to automation standards, code reviews, technical documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and Playwright . Extensive experience in test automation framework design and quality engineering. Proven expertise in CI/CD pipelines , DevSecOps , and continuous testing practices. Experience building scalable automation platforms and enterprise-grade testing solutions. Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and clean coding practices. Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills. Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills. Preferred Experience Experience within Banking, Financial Services, or other highly regulated enterprise environments. Exposure to cloud-native applications, API automation, and modern software delivery practices. Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
