Cleared Recruitment is partnering with a leading Australian Defence technology organisation seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to support and enhance a secure, enterprise ICT environment.

You'll work across cloud platforms, cyber security, networking, infrastructure, virtualisation, and end-user support while helping maintain critical business systems in a highly secure environment.

The Role

/n

As the IT Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, security, and continuous improvement of the organisation's ICT setting. You will ensure business-critical systems remain secure, reliable, and compliant while providing technical support across the organisation.

/n

This role is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys working autonomously, solving complex technical challenges, and contributing to the ongoing uplift of ICT capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

/n

Cloud & Microsoft Technologies

/n

/n

- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Teams, Entra ID (Azure AD), Share Point Online, and Exchange Online.

/n

- Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and security policies.

/n

- Monitor system performance and respond to service issues.

/n/n

Infrastructure & Systems Administration

/n

/n

- Administer Linux environments, including Ubuntu servers.

/n





- Maintain virtualisation platforms and supporting infrastructure.

/n

- Perform system patching, upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting, and documentation.

/n

- Support internal services, development platforms, authentication systems, and VPN technologies.

/n/n

Networking & Cyber Security

/n

/n

- Maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs.

/n

- Support ICT security operations, access management, and privileged account controls.

/n

- Assist with security compliance activities, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

/n/n

End-User Support

/n

/n

- Configure, deploy, and support laptops, desktops, and peripheral equipment.

/n

- Provide technical support and troubleshooting across the business.

/n

- Manage hardware lifecycle activities from procurement through to decommissioning.

/n/n

Continuous Improvement

/n

/n

- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, security, automation, and operational efficiency.

/n

- Contribute to technology uplift projects and process improvements.

/n/n

Skills & Experience

/n

Essential

/n

/n

- Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments.

/n

- Linux systems administration experience.

/n

- Experience supporting virtualisation platforms.

/n

- Networking and infrastructure support experience.

/n





- Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions.

/n

- Strong understanding of ICT security principles and access controls.

/n

- Experience providing end-user technical support.

/n/n

Desirable

/n

/n

- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.

/n

- Scripting and automation experience.

/n

- Experience working within Defence, government, or other regulated environments.

/n

- Knowledge of Essential Eight and DISP requirements.

/n/n

Requirements

/n

/n

- Current NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory.

/n

- Relevant qualifications in Information Technology, Systems Administration, Networking, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

/n/n
