We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join a major mining operation, supporting a diverse portfolio of sustaining projects.

This role is ideal for an estimator with experience in mining, processing plants, or heavy industrial environments who can develop accurate cost estimates and work collaboratively with engineering, construction, procurement, and project teams.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Projects team, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for a range of sustaining works across mining infrastructure and processing facilities. You will play a key role in supporting project planning, budgeting, and execution by providing reliable and commercially sound estimates.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare Class 5 to Class 1 cost estimates for mining sustaining projects
- Develop quantity take-offs from engineering drawings and project documentation
- Prepare labour, equipment, material, and subcontractor cost estimates
- Review project scopes and identify commercial and technical risks
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to validate estimate assumptions
- Prepare estimate reports, pricing schedules, and supporting documentation
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and benchmarking data
- Support project budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning activities





About You

- 5+ experience as an Estimator within the mining, resources, or heavy industrial sector
- Experience estimating sustaining, brownfield, or maintenance projects
- Solid understanding of mining construction and/or processing plant environments
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
- Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or Trade qualification highly regarded
- Experience working for a mining contractor or engineering consultancy is highly regarded
