Briner Signs is looking for an experienced Commercial Signage Production Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day production and installation operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands signage manufacturing, enjoys solving production challenges and knows how to keep people, machinery and projects moving efficiently.
You will have genuine responsibility for production scheduling, team performance, quality and workflow improvements, while remaining actively involved across large-format printing, prepress, sign preparation and assembly.
Briner is one of Melbourne’s longest-operating signage businesses, with more than 80 years of experience delivering commercial, property and large-format signage. We are continuing to grow our commercial capabilities, project portfolio and relationships with construction, development and agency partners.

About the role
Reporting to General Manager - Operations, you will oversee the smooth and efficient delivery of commercial signage projects from approved artwork through to production, assembly, dispatch and installation.
You will balance daily production priorities,
allocate resources, support the Graphics Installations Team and proactively resolve issues before they affect quality or delivery.
This is not a desk-only management role. We are looking for someone who is comfortable stepping into production when required, coaching team members and driving continuous improvement across the workshop.
Key responsibilities
- Own and manage the daily commercial production schedule
- Prioritise jobs and allocate labour and materials
- Coordinate production deadlines with sales and project management teams
- Work closely with the Print Room Team Leader and maintain a strong working knowledge of large-format printing, cutting, routing, finishing, sign preparation and assembly.
- Roster, brief and coordinate the installation team
- Ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, on time and to Briner’s quality standards
- Provide clear direction, support and feedback to factory and production staff
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement practical process improvements
- Troubleshoot commercialproduction issues
- Monitor materials, stock levels and wastageMaintain a safe, organised and efficient production environment
- Track and report against relevant production KPIs
- Support quality control across manufacturing, finishing and installation
About you
You are an experienced signage professional who combines strong technical knowledge with practical leadership skills.
You are organised, calm under pressure and comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced production environment. You take pride in quality, communicate clearly and understand how to get the best from a team while still holding people accountable.
Ideally, you will bring:
- Proven experience managing signage or large-format print production
- Hands-on experience in sign preparation, finishing and assembly
- Strong knowledge of large-format printers, CNC routers, cutting equipment and associated machinery
- Strong computer literacy, with the ability to quickly learn and confidently use Briner’s custom in-house production systems.
- The ability to read plans, specifications and production drawings
- Experience scheduling production and coordinating installation teams
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- An understanding of production safety, equipment maintenance and workflow efficiency
- 5–7 years’ experience in signage production or the broader signage industry
- An EWP licence is desirable but not essential
