Step into a highly visible role reporting directly to a Director, with great exposure to senior leadership and complex, high stakes matters. Build close working relationships across an enormously varied stakeholder base, from frontline community leaders through to executives and external insurers. A role where your judgement and initiative are truly valued, not just your technical insurance knowledge.
About The Organisation
This organisation delivers a broad range of community, education and support services across close to 100 sites throughout Queensland, touching the lives of hundreds of thousands of people each week. It operates under a single insurance program and policy across the entire organisation, managed centrally by a small, highly regarded Risk, Assurance and Insurance function.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director, Risk, Assurance and Insurance, this role is the day to day operational contact for all insurance matters across the organisation. You will work closely with the appointed insurance broker to manage enquiries, policy administration, renewals and claims, acting as the first point of contact for insurance related questions from a large and diverse network of sites and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Coordinating communication and workflow between the broker and internal stakeholders, tracking requests, renewals and claims through to completion
- Managing a shared insurance enquiry inbox and responding to queries in a timely, professional manner
- Educating stakeholders across the organisation on insurance obligations and processes
- Coordinating the annual insurance renewal process, including collecting and validating information from stakeholders
- Managing insurance invoicing and premium allocation in conjunction with the finance team
- Coordinating claims administration between stakeholders, the broker and insurers, and monitoring claim trends and policy performance
- Maintaining accurate insurance records, schedules and documentation
ABOUT YOU
This role will suit someone with strong insurance administration experience and outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. You will be dealing with a large and varied stakeholder base daily, at times in sensitive circumstances, so patience, sincerity and a real service mindset matter as much as technical insurance knowledge.
What Matters Is That You Can Demonstrate
- Experience administering corporate insurance programs, including claims, policy administration and renewals
- Sound knowledge of insurance principles, policy structures and claims processes, underwriting or broking experience highly regarded
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across a broad and diverse range of internal and external contacts
- Solid initiative, comfortable proactively identifying better ways of doing things
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite
- Not for profit sector experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
WHAT'S ON OFFER
- Hybrid working, including a 4 day week open for the right person
- Flexibility around start and finish times
- Genuine autonomy to shape and improve how things are done, with your ideas taken seriously by leadership rather than just following process
- A close-knit, high trust team where your contribution is visible and valued
- Exposure to complex, high stakes matters and direct working relationships with a well established insurance broker
- The opportunity to make a real positive impact across a large and meaningful network of communities
