About the Orica Graduate Engineering Program

We are excited to invite applications for our 2027 Graduate Engineering Program, commencing in 2027. We are seeking graduates with Chemical, Mechanical and Electrical competencies.

As a graduate, you’ll take part in a structured two-year program designed to accelerate your development and set you up for long-term success.

These roles will be based at the Yarwun Manufacturing Facility, where we produce necessary products for mining, agriculture, and infrastructure industries, including sodium cyanide and ammonium nitrate, supporting critical industries globally.

Your Role as a Graduate Engineer

As a Graduate Engineer, you’ll be gaining hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge industrial processes and technologies.

What you’ll be doing:

- Get involved in real‑world hazard identification and risk assessments, support process design, research, and continuous improvement projects to optimize operations;
- Support real‑world manufacturing operations,



improve processes to ensure efficiency, product quality, and cost‑effectiveness;
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure operations compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards within the workplace;
- Contribute to the design and optimization of safe manufacturing and storage processes, especially for explosive or high‑risk materials.

What you will bring:

- A degree completed or due for completion in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering;
- A willingness to learn and grow in a hands‑on, industrial environment;
- A team-oriented approach, with the ability to work effectively within diverse teams.

Location & Support

These roles will be based at our Yarwun Manufacturing Facility, close to Gladstone, Queensland, where you’ll gain valuable, hands‑on experience in a dynamic operational environment.
