The Role

We are seeking an experienced Structural, Mechanical, and Piping Steel Detailer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will create detailed designs and fabrication drawings for a wide variety of projects, ensuring they meet client specifications, industry standards, and our high‑quality benchmarks.

This role is central to the successful delivery of complex projects that serve key clients in a range of industry sectors.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop detailed designs and fabrication drawings for SMP projects using industry‑standard software.
- Interpret and apply client specifications, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy of designs.
- Revise drawings based on client feedback and site requirements.




- Maintain and update design standards and documentation as required.
- Troubleshoot design challenges and recommend practical solutions to support efficient fabrication.

About You

Essential Skills and Experience

Proven experience in structural, mechanical, and piping detailing/design for the steel fabrication or mining industry.

Tekla proficiency is a core requirement for this role. Additional experience with Revit, AutoCAD or MicroStation will be viewed favourably, but is not essential.

Solid understanding of Australian Standards and mining specifications.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality work.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Familiarity with fabrication processes, materials, and techniques.

Knowledge of SMP project workflows within the mining sector.
