As Senior Asset Manager, you will take a leading role in driving commercial performance, managing strategic initiatives and optimising asset value across a portfolio of operating renewable energy assets. This position offers exposure to executive leadership, asset boards, investors and key industry stakeholders while contributing to Australia's energy transition.
The Opportunity:
Reporting into senior leadership within the Asset & Portfolio Management team, you will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of operating renewable energy assets, ensuring they deliver strong operational, commercial and financial outcomes.
You will act as the primary commercial lead for assigned assets, coordinating internal and external stakeholders to maximise performance, manage risk and identify growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic management of a portfolio of operating renewable energy assets.
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance asset value and investor returns.
- Drive commercial strategies including power offtake arrangements, operational agreements, insurance programs and optimisation opportunities.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for asset expansion, repowering, storage integration and new revenue streams.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations and contract management activities.
Asset Performance & Risk Management
- Maintain accountability for asset performance, compliance and risk management.
- Monitor operational, commercial and financial performance against objectives.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts and business plans.
- Ensure contractual, regulatory and market compliance obligations are met.
- Partner with technical and operational teams to deliver performance improvement initiatives.
Board & Stakeholder Engagement
- Prepare and present board papers and investment reporting materials.
- Participate in governance forums and asset-level board meetings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, service providers, contractors, government agencies and key industry stakeholders.
- Support investor engagement, due diligence and capital management activities.
Leadership & Culture
- Provide mentoring and leadership within the asset management function.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable and high-performing culture.
- Champion health, safety and ESG outcomes across the portfolio.
- Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You:
You are a commercially minded asset management professional with a passion for renewable energy and infrastructure.
You bring:
- 10+ years' experience in asset management, infrastructure, energy, commercial management, investment, legal or related sectors.
- Robust commercial, financial and contract negotiation expertise.
- Experience managing operational infrastructure or renewable energy assets.
- Ability to engage effectively with boards, investors and executive stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of project economics, business case development and value creation strategies.
- Experience balancing technical, commercial and operational considerations to drive outcomes.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Law or a related discipline.
